Pros: Looks and plays great. New Interactive League feature is nice which allows you to strive and get at the top of the table in real time with your team. Nice Play-list.
Cons: Players are a bit lazy, especially the defenders. C.P.U opponents use a lot of same tactics and drills so it’s quite easy to interpret.
Fifa 06 and Fifa World Cup editions, which came out last year, were almost the same and basically World Cup one was a disappointment. It was the same to 06 versions and not worth the extra investment. Here’s where the Fifa 07 comes in to bring out the best experience of soccer simulations thus far. It juices out the extremist of what the current gen systems have to offer. It provided nicer interface, a new Interactive League feature which lets you play a mirrored schedule of their real-world fixtures. As you are playing with people rivals to your club you have to push it to get to the top of the table. FIFA 07 is also “online aware” - it will display real news and score lines as they happen, as well as update your virtual player roster in the wake of real-world transfers.
This is the Season of killer shots!!
Game play is the best part of this new version. It has made large improvements over last generations of physics and animation. The player animation really stands out in this game. Now it doesn’t feel like the ball is stuck to your foot. It has proper movement and will respond real-like, depending upon your movement and placing. Also the right analog ‘Trick-Stick’ has new level difficulty to use, as the moves performed are not always the same, depending upon whether the player is moving or standing still. This new ball physics has made game more natural ‘cause now the passing is dependant upon the position of players and if the passer is more excelled in maneuvering long passes or short passes etc…you get the point.
Graphics is at its best. Playing Fifa 07 is now much closer to reality due to new graphics and player animation. Most players are now recognizable like Van Percie and Robben which I couldn’t recognize in Fifa 06, but there’s still place for improvements with players like Drogba and Lehman.
I specially like the Manager Mode which is just the same as from the 06 but there are a bit of some new add-ons like the whole new system of ‘Youth Academy’ and ‘Player Growth’. You still have to worry about three main things, fan support, job security, and the team chemistry. Employ real world tactics, make realistic decisions, and think like a player in order to win matches. Your achievements and your failures are all addressed by the Members of board in their emails. You get to choose sponsors to support your team with finance and you should choose them wisely so that you do not end up with negative in the bank amount. The main story is still the same, to navigate your team through the end of season to get to the top, And to stay at the top through the 15 years of your job as a Manager. The Lounge Mode is an excellent way to keep you busy with some of your friends. If you have 5-7 friends over then you should give this a try as you will compete with friends to get to the top of the table to see who the Champ is.
The Sound experience was surprisingly good. There was a nice list of music in Ea Trax and I have never seen such a smooth flow of commentary. The sound effects used are very good and make gaming much more natural. The roars, the applause and the anticipation of the fans give it a much more realistic feel.
There are some special features included like Season preview of NAB live 07, season highlights of F.A Premier and BundesLiga and an exclusive interview with Wayne Rooney. Fan shop there to unlock special kits and ball and cameras etc…like before.
Overall it’s a very good game that will give you hours of entertainment and thrills and of course fun. I give it an overall 9/10 as it’s a very good game to begin with and is EA’s best effort yet. They have proved that this is ‘THE SEASON’.
Conclusion: What more I can say is Pro Evo must still be at top but Fifa is closing the gap fast.
